Historical Background
Hazrat Abdol-Azim al-Hasani was a fifth-generation descendant of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba (A.S.) and a trusted companion of Imam Muhammad al-Taqi (A.S.) and Imam Ali al-Hadi (A.S.). Imam al-Hadi (A.S.) famously told a pilgrim from Rey: "If you had visited Abdol-Azim in your city, you would be like one who visited Husayn ibn Ali (A.S.) in Karbala."
